Decorative Arts in the White House Symposium - Welcome and Introduction

This video showcases the welcome and introduction of the Decorative Arts in the White House Symposium on October 1, 2020. The Decorative Arts in the White House Symposium was a day-long virtual event, hosted by the White House Historical Association in partnership with Winterthur Museum, Garden & Library. This symposium featured decorative arts experts, historians, and curators who discussed the creation of American taste; the history of the White House Collection, as well as its preservation and conservation; the White House as house, museum, and stage; and the Kennedy restoration of the White House.
