Andrew Jackson's Dessert China
Creator: Dagoty-Honore, Paris, 1833.
Though Andrew Jackson preferred American food, not the French food usually served in the White House, his blue-bordered dessert china came from the French manufacturer used by President Monroe. A gold rim edges the plate, and an American eagle with arrows and an olive branch, decorates the center. The eagle is the Arms of the United States. The sunray pattern around the American eagle matched Jackson's East Room decorations.
