John Budetti was Global Chair of the Investment Funds & Private Capital practice at Paul Hastings, an international law firm. He joined Paul Hastings from Kirkland & Ellis, where he was a senior partner in the Investment Funds Group at Kirkland & Ellis. John has spent his entire career in New York City. Prior to law school, John spent six years in Washington, DC working as a reporter, a lobbyist, and a consultant — all focused on national health care politics and policy. He was accepted to the White House Internship program, and his time there included a stint working in the West Wing. He holds a B.A. from Trinity College, a J.D. from the Northwestern Pritzker School of Law, and an M.B.A. from the Kellogg School of Management. He and his wife, Amy, have four children and live in Montclair, NJ.
