White House Historical Association historian Lina Mann will discuss the history of Inauguration Day with Dr. Matthew Costello, Chief Education Officer and Director of the David M. Rubenstein National Center. Costello will explore the evolution of Inaugurations through five key components that still exist today – the transition period, the swearing-in ceremony, the Inaugural Address, the procession and parade, and Inaugural balls.

This event will be live streamed on the White House Historical Association's Facebook and YouTube pages starting at 5:30 pm ET on January 14, 2025.
