Washington, DCThe images, documents, and other files within the Digital Library supported numerous projects undertaken by the White House Historical Association during their partnership with Amazon Web Services from 2017 through 2023, proving that the Library is more than just an online archive. Utilizing the content of the Digital Library, AWS technology, and AWS’s vast network, the partnership resulted in a variety of digital resources including the White House Experience app and an Alexa skill.
Amazon Web Services offers its clients web and cloud computing services. AWS was founded in 2006 as a subsidiary of Amazon.
The White House Historical Association began its partnership with Amazon Web Services following an agreement signed in late 2016 and extended through 2023. The partnership’s aim was to expand the Digital Library and use its holdings to enhance digital initiatives supporting the Association’s mission.
