Title: Paint Restoration of the South Portico

Description: In 1992, after twelve years, the conservation project to strip the outside stone walls of paint, repair damaged stonework, and repaint the exterior of the White House was finally completed. This image shows the south facade of the White House during its restoration, which lasted from 1989-1992.
