White House Historical Association Historian and
Webmaster William B. Bushong interviews artist Peter Waddell
about his paintings of the Red Room, Blue Room, and Entrance
Hall depicting the opulent 1882 White House redecoration
executed by Louis Comfort Tiffany. The association has
commissioned Waddell to paint a series of paintings that
capture “forgotten” scenes of the White House
and its grounds in the nineteenth century.
